Bison pairings set for SWC

The Bison are seeded sixth among eight girls teams and will play a Monday 6 p.m. quarterfinal at No. 3-seed Cozad.

Cozad conquered McCook in a previous meeting last month.

Monday's winner would move into the Friday's 5 p.m. against No. 2 Ogallala or No. 7 Valentine.

All semifinals and Saturday final-round games will be played at Kearney High School.

Minden meets No. 8 Valentine while No. 5 Broken Bow visits No. 4 Gothenburg in other Monday quarterfinals.

The girls' championship game is set for 4:30 p.m. on Saturday following a 1 p.m third-place contest.

McCook's boys also take a No. 6 seed into the Tuesday quarterfinal game at No. 3 Ogallala. First tip is set for 6 p.m. central time.

A win would put the Bison against No. 2 Broken Bow or No. 7 Ainsworth Friday night (8 p.m.) at Kearney High.

The championship game will be 6:15 on Saturday with third-place contes set for 2:45 p.m.

Other first-round boys games Thursday evening feature No. 1 Gothenburg hosting No. 8 Valentine and No. 4 Cozad home to play No. 5 Minden.
