Give the gift of learning
Friday, November 20, 2015
We've offered plenty of Christmas gift-giving suggestions on our pages, including page 17 today, and most of us appreciate any ideas we can get.
We like a poem that give guidelines for parents and others planning gifts for a special child:
Something they want, something they need.
Something to wear and something to read.
We don't know how to make it rhyme, but Mid-Plains Community College has another good suggestion, something to learn.
MPCC can provide gift certificates to help defray the cost of classes and other college-related expenses.
"Gift certificates are a great way to help with the costs of continuing education," said Chuck Salestrom, MPCC associate vice president for public information and marketing. "They truly are the gift that will keep on giving for a lifetime."
It's not difficult to do.
If you'd like to purchase a gift certificate, contact the college business office, provide the amount of the gift and who they would like it made payable to. You can provide a credit card number, cash or check, whichever's the most convenient.
Gift certificates of any amount can be given to use for tuition, fees, housing or meal plans, and they can be redeemed at any MPCC campus, or for courses offered through the Mid-Plains Center for Enterprise.
More information is available by calling the business office at (308) 535-3777 in North Platte, (308) 345-8101 in McCook or by email at studentaccounts @mpcc.edu.
