CAMBRIDGE, Neb. -- Karen M. Houser, age 41, of Cambridge, passed away at the CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney on Aug. 1, 2015.

She was born in Cambridge on Oct. 6, 1973, to Roy and Betty (Sughroue) tenBensel. She grew up south of Cambridge on the family farm. Karen attended and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1992.

On Aug. 22, 1992, she was united in marriage to Douglas Houser in Cambridge at the Trinity United Methodist Church. To this union three sons were born: Charles, Marshall and Dalton. Karen and Doug made their home north of Cambridge.

Karen loved to garden, paint, and spent most of her time raising the three boys. She recently joined the Eustis Booster Club. She was known as a caregiver to others in her life, family and strangers alike.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty; sister, Linda Chlopek; and an infant brother, Dewayne tenBensel.

Karen is survived by her husband, Doug; three sons, Charles, Marshall and Dalton, all of Cambridge; father, Roy of Cambridge; four brothers, Ron, Scott, and Kenny of Cambridge and David and wife, Shirley of Rogers, Arkansas.

Funeral services will be on Friday, Aug. 7, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church with Pastor Dave Welch officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Cambridge. Visitation will be at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
