Letter to the Editor

Instruction manual

Friday, March 6, 2015

Dear Editor,

I am writing in response to Andy Hutchins letter in Tuesday's Opinion column. No one is trying to IMPOSE their beliefs on anyone. I thought Mr. Bruce de Sautels letter was brilliant and very well written. Our Bible gives us a very comprehensive view of our origin, starting with Adam & Eve (not Steve) in the book of Genesis. It says "He created us male and female" for a purpose and He gave them a command, "Go and populate the earth." He invested us with sexual desire, so as to fulfill our destiny. He also gave us an instruction manual to live our lives by ... the Holy Bible.

I have purchased a number of new vehicles through the years and they all came with an INSTRUCTIOLN MANUAL. God gave us a wonderful instruction manual, so we would be able to live successfully and enjoy His blessings ... which are numerous. The Bible says, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination." Leviticus 18:22.

"And in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error."

"And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper."

"And although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them."

Romans 1:27-28 & 32. Mr. Hutchins didn't you have a father and mother? How else do you account for your existence? God offers you the gift of ETERNAL LIFE through His Son, Jesus Christ.

This gift, plus the gift of forgiveness for all your sins, is yours when you receive Him as your Savior. Pray, "Lord Jesus thank You for taking the punishment for my sins. By faith, I receive You as my Savior. Amen!"

Cordially,

Paul Schneider

  • This is so bad - so muddled. You could spend days refuting everything he says. But, why not just start with the 2st sentence. Take 2 groups. One has the belief that gay relations are perfectly normal and that their lives as gay individuals or couples is perfectly normal. The other group thinks that homosexual relations are abnormal and that their lives as gay individuals or couples is immoral and perverse. So far they just have different opinion on the same thing. If that was all that was involved then you could say that nobody was trying to impose their ideas on anyone else. But, if one group of people is trying to enact laws or perpetuate laws that oppose the beliefs of another group of people - to stop them from acting in a way they deem perfectly normal - how is this not trying to impose their ideas on anyone. If , for example, you now write up a law that calls for the death of gays ( as is done in some countries) how is it that this does not impose on gays the idea that only heterosexual conduct is ok or normal and that the lifestyle of gays will not be taken as normal or allowed. Doesn't it not force this heterosexual belief on them and a heterosexual lifestyle on them? Go look at this youtube video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gr7d1sTDNts -- The ISIS group has a law against gays that they are enforcing in certain areas according to some Islamic law. Why would anyone say here that ISIS in not imposing anything on anyone?

  • Someone has pointed out that I made a mistake on the sentence -- "Doesn't it not force this heterosexual belief on them and a heterosexual lifestyle on them? " It should read " Does it not force this heterosexual belief on them and a heterosexual lifestyle on them?" So picky.

  • Isn't it ironic that many spiritual leaders who stand at the front of the church and condemn homosexuality then turn around and molest little boys when the doors are closed?

  • Shallal, thank you! Here's another can of worms to open. Who has proof that the Holy Bible was actually written by God? All versions of the bible (some vastly different) are 3rd party, some even handed down further. So how does one person even know which Bible, if any are true and should have as an instruction manual?

  • RC In fact, you are correct that the Bible is no longer the Perfect Edition of His Word, 'if,' you are reading a Translation, or Transliteration. Reading the 'Original' written language, and understanding the thoughts of the way the Hebrew mind works, then, and IMO, only then can we obtain a semblance of perfect understanding.

TORAH, was Scribed by Moses, as dictated by God, somewhere near 1,700 BC (+ - ), but some of the teachings had been orally transmitted by the Hebrew since Abraham, where the covenant promises were made at least.

Most of todays Bibles come very close to God's perfect Word. The Bible is the only Holy Book that promises a Perfect, Loving, Tear-free, Eternity. No other holy book, authored by man alone comes close to our Bible. Every Constitutional Law takes the legal authority from the Bible. Our Nation, USA, is founded upon the Bible. The original Government buildings had Biblical decorations, only.

Oh, the Bible says that Homo-sexual behavior is "Worthy" of Death (The Second Death is Eternity in the Lake of Flame, built for Satan and the Fallen Angels, and only those souls who refuse Messiah/God, while mortal) a thought.
