Letter to the Editor

Sa'n' ta or Sata'n'?

Tuesday, January 20, 2015

Dear Editor,

A local (only) stamp outght to be cheaper. Will ye shred the Bill of Rights of landowners? (Liable for leaks and spills -X/+)

Trenching in a foreign pipeline -- eminent domain is for schools and roads -- not Walmart casinos etc. Canada is closer to the Atlantic and Pacific than Texas. Piping oil through the USA for export -- cut supply -- or haul fuel back is fiscal folly (like the post office!).

Try more refineries. Abolish retirement ($) for every elected official, dock their pay, balance the budget.

Will the pyranical aliens overrun the USA before the trillion dollars of debt crasheth it?

How many of the political parasites (Congress) will the pipeline personally profit? "There is a way that seemeth right unto man, but the end thereof is the way of death " Prov. 16:25.

Frank Sowers,

Benkelman, Nebraska

  • Frank how right u are the right of landowners is being pushed aside for certain people to get their pockets padded. Not only landowners should be aware or this but anyone who thinks they own something how do the courts get to set a value on what they think a person should be paid for this pipeline to go through. This "Eminent Domain" is a loop hole that denies the Constitution. What good does it do for a pipeline spokesperson to tell the public that this pipeline is never going to leak or break and contaminate the land and or drinking water below? You and I both know that it will happen and then what is someone going to tell us To Bad, money cant fix the problems it will cause look at the B P spill in the ocean.

Here is some food for thought that was spoken long before your time and mine but holds true to this day

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich

You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.

you cannot lift the wage earner by pulling the wage payer down.

you cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.

you cannot build character and courage by taking away peoples initiative and independence.

you cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.

    Abraham Lincoln

If this government pushes these landowners over on the land that they have worked for and earned nothing of what this country was founded on will ever hold any merit.
