McCOOK, Neb. -- Dallas Duane Cobb, age 62, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015, in Kearney, Nebraska.

Dallas was born Jan. 29, 1952, in Stratton, Nebraska, to parents Bobbie B. and Eldred R. (Carpenter) Cobb. The family made their home in Stratton, where Dallas graduated from Stratton High School in 1970.

Dallas married Diane B. Bick on June 22, 1974, in Farnam, Nebraska. To this union three children were born; Julie, Jason and Kendra. The family moved to McCook from Lexington, Nebraska, in 1989. Dallas was employed by the Nebraska State Patrol as a carrier enforcement officer until his retirement.

Dallas was an active member of McCook Evangelical Free Church, serving in many areas. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and gardening. His grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Dallas was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Cobb of McCook; children, Julie (Greg) Swanson of Sutherland, Iowa, Jason (Jodi) Cobb of Cambridge, Nebraska, and Kendra Cobb of McCook; brothers, Norman (Glenna) Cobb of York, Nebraska, and Wes (Dixie) Cobb of Lincoln, Nebraska; sister, Lorie (Dick) Golding of South Fork, Colorado; mother-in-law, Ardyce Bick of Moorefield, Nebraska; grandchildren, Luke, Matthew and Emily Swanson, Tate, Cole and Jake Cobb and Logan and Bryce Estrada; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Visitation will be at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home today, Jan. 15, 2015, until 8 p.m. with family present to greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Evangelical Free Church in McCook with Pastor Bruce Lester officiating.

Burial will follow the service in Memorial Park Cemetery also located in McCook.
