Brothers Kaleb, 9, and Kallen Feikert, 11, of McCook, Nebraska, help their neighbors Patty Crohn and Dean Wheeler slice and chop through crusty, drifted snow packed by strong winds Saturday evening.

Around the Jaycees ballparks Sunday morning, City of McCook employee Kirk Wilson blasted through accumulated snow with a John Deere snowblower. Kyle Potthoff, the city's public works director, said this morning there were some pretty good drifts throughout the community, while other streets blew clear of the couple inches of snow that weather officials reported. The snow depth would have been more, but it's hard to measure horizontal snow. (Connie Jo Discoe/McCook Gazette)
