Maxine (Mrstik) Sauvage

OBERLIN, Neb. -- Maxine (Mrstik) Sauvage, 87, died Tueday (Dec. 9, 2014), in Oberlin.

She was born July 2, 1927, in rural Kanona, Kansas, to Rudolph and Emma (Fiala) Mrstik. She graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1945. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Rebekah's Lodge.

She married Keith Sauvage on March 21, 1948, in Oberlin. She was a mother and housewife.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Emma (Fiala) Mrstik; husband, Keith Sauvage; and sister, Virginia Carey.

Survivors include her children, William W. Sauvage of Oberlin, John and wife, Donna Sauvage of Selden, Michael and wife, Cheryl Sauvage of Oberlin, Trudy Stockham of Norton and Joan and husband, Mike McKenna of Jennings; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren with twins on the way.

Services are Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. James Jennings officiating. Interment is at the Oberlin cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014, 1-8 p.m. and after 8 a.m. on Monday. Memorials may be given to the Decatur County Amusement Authority.
