Hunters say thanks

Monday, December 8, 2014

Dear Editor,

I would like to say thank you to the communities of Cambridge and McCook, from myself and the rest of my hunting party.

This is the second year now that we have traveled from our homes in (way) Northern California to hunt whitetail deer in your beautiful state.

As Californians we do not always get the best reception when we travel out of state to hunt or recreate. Trust me I understand completely. We live in the far northern part of California and sometimes feel the same way when visited by our southern state neighbors.

The communities of McCook and Cambridge have been fantastic and have made us feel at home. It is very refreshing to be able to hunt and relax in a place that still embraces the clean morale principals of living as you folks do. Every place we went treated us like one of their friends, even when they found out we were law enforcement officers from California.

We are already planning our trip back there for next year. Again thank you for the hospitality and we look forward to seeing you again next year.

  • I wish the Game and Parks would do some stocking of birds in this area like they recently did in eastern Nebraska.
