Quilt show, demonstration

The Piecemakers Quilt Guild of McCook, Nebraska, plans a quilt demonstration and trunk show featuring Patricia Knoechel of San Diego, California, Saturday, Aug. 23, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., at Peace Lutheran Church, 411 E. Sixth Street, McCook. Admission will be a $5 donation. Quilting is a passion for Patricia, who, with her sister, Eleanor Burns, the author of "Quilt in a Day" books, started a company called "Creating with Color" in 1985 to make and distribute the Quilt in a Day line of quilting rulers and booklets. At her presentation in McCook, Patty will share tips, tricks, new products and patterns from Quilt in a Day. The program will feature Eleanor's newest book, "All Stars Mystery Quilts."
