College '67 Camaro raffle tickets on sale Monday
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. -- They say the early bird gets the worm. If that's the case, you'll want to be one of the first to purchase raffle tickets for Mid-Plains Community College's newest custom car project -- a '67 Camaro RS 350/350 -- at a kickoff event from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 9, at Bob Spady Buick GMC in North Platte.
"This is a great chance for folks to be one of the first to get their raffle tickets for this year's car," said Chuck Salestrom, Area Associate Vice President of Public Information and Marketing. "Tickets are $10 each and the North Platte Community College Foundation only sells 6,000. This is an amazing car and it's already generating a lot of interest so we just might sell out this year."
This year's hotrod, donated by Lorna Bouzek in memory of her son, Troy Bouzek, sports a completely rebuilt 350 motor and turbo 350 automatic transmission under the hood. The sleek black interior allows the "Just Yellow" paint, Redline tires and Rally wheels to steal the show.
The drawing for the car will take place in September. Proceeds from the raffle will be used to purchase the next project and the remaining profit is returned to the students in the form of scholarships. Last year the college gave out $7,500 in scholarships.
