Summer melodramas start Sunday

McCOOK, Neb. -- The Fox Theatre Operations and Events Committee is proud to announce the cast of this season's summer melodrama which will be presented in five performances during the month of June. The first performance is scheduled for Sunday June 8, at 2:30 p.m. in the Fox Theatre, 412 Norris Ave. in McCook. "The Treasure of Shiver River or It's hard to drive cattle when their horns are frozen" by Flip Kobler and Cindy Marcus is set in an old west hotel where guests are gathering for an important cattle auction. This is a fresh new melodrama with all the traditional plot elements. The villain is scheming to find a way to gain control of the Shiver River Ranch and its potential treasure by creating a crisis for its current owners.

Cast members for the show are:

Lotta Luck -- Kathy Latta, Scoop O'Mally -- Bryce Osterman, Rod Enreel -- Ethan Poore, Paige Turner -- Rachel Gordine, Heidi Claire Sanders -- Tyler Rambali, Colonel Ticonderoga Sanders -- Jeremy Blomstedt, Rusty Nail -- Connor DeWalt, Gail Nail -- Katie Brawdy, Marshal Marshall Law -- Christian Hofman, Orin Gold -- Daniel Jordan, Burlap Bonnie -- Emily Karr and Dr. Ophelia Payne -- JeriLynn Karr.

The show is directed by Joseph McCarty and Charles Coleman is the producer. Old time piano music will be provided by Lisa Meyers.

Other performances are scheduled for June 18, 21, 22, and 25.

June 22 will be another 2:30 matinee with evening performances at 7:30 p.m. for the remaining dates. The $5 tickets are available only at the Fox ticket booth one hour before each performance.

All proceeds go to the continuing Fox improvement project with emphasis on the Light Up the Fox campaign.

The show contains many delightful characters that will have the audience laughing along with the traditional "Boo's" for the villain and cheers for the hero. This is a fun-filled show that the whole family can enjoy. The show is produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service Inc. of Englewood, Colorado.
