PC oscars

Dear Editor,

I hope you Nebraskans aren't too disappointed that "Nebraska" didn't win one award at the recent Oscar ceremonies.

I knew the fix was in months ago and no way were the Hollywood reds going to honor a solid Republican state. If the title of the movie had been "California" or "New York," it would've won numerous awards.

Also predictable was that "12 Years a Slave" would automatically win the Oscar for best picture. This was the usual politically correct choice of the leftist Motion Picture Academy.

The film industry has hit the moral dregs with its perennial output of trash, foul language, sex and violence, and is wallowing in the same crime-infested sewer as Hollywood itself.

Meanwhile, Bogie, Duke, Marilyn, Marlon, Henry, Coop, Clark, Jimy, Spencer, Bete, Cary, Elizabeth, Kirk Audrey and Shirley, your stars shine brighter with each passing year.

  • PC film? I personally thought it was quite a decent film. I watched Nebraska prior to the Oscar's and did not understand how would have even been picked for best anything. I was quite dull and pointless in my opinion. However, I was curious and watched 12 Years A Slave and was in awe how well-written the movie was. Now I understand that the new PC way of discreetly showing that you are not for such films would be to say "conservative", "leftist", "red state" but I automatically hear "something" else (if you know what I mean).
