Brooklynn Tidyman and Brayden Cox, members of the Hayes Center, Nebraska Gymnastics Team, compete in the team's first-ever home meet in Hayes Center Saturday; teams from North Platte, Ogallala, Broken Bow and Hays, Kansas, were invited to compete. The Hayes Center team is a satellite of Platte Valley Gymnastics, North Platte, and is coached by Raquel Jurjens and Amy Willard, both of North Platte. Jurgens said her Hayes Center gymnasts started in October 2013 and are learning tumbling, vault, bar and balance beam. The youngest gymnasts start at two years old, Jurjens said; the oldest are high school-age. Parents are encouraged to call Jennifer Friehe in Hayes Center, (308) 340-3339, to sign their children up for the team.
