DENVER, Colorado -- Alice G. (Johnson) Capps, 82, died Tuesday (Jan. 7, 2014), at her residence in Denver, Colorado.

She was born Dec. 10, 1931, in Bird City, Kansas, to Floyd and Hazel (Williams) Johnson.

She attended Decatur Community High School, graduating in 1950. On April 8, 1952, she married Vidal D. Capps in Oberlin. They made their home in Ventura and Santa Paula, California, before moving to Denver in 1965.

After raising her children, she worked at a phone company and nursery, in addition to babysitting.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vidal; her parents, Floyd and Hazel (Williams) Johnson; infant daughter, Victoria Lynette; brothers, Lyle and Lowell Johnson; and infant sister, Ardis Johnson.

Survivors include three children, Rick Capps of Nebraska, Daniel Capps and wife, Tamitha of Aurora, Colorado, and Kimberly Gautier and husband, Darrell of Culbertson, Nebraska; brother and sister-in-law, Lynn and Roberta Johnson of Oberlin; three grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Services are Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, 11 a.m. at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Nancy Proffitt officiating.

Memorials may be given in her name.
