In recognition of service

Darcey Hansen, TeamMates Director, left, presents a plaque to Dennis Berry, Outgoing President, in recognition of his service to the McCook TeamMates Chapter. Berry has completed two terms, serving on the board for 8 years. Stacey Priebe, right, is the Incoming President for TeamMates. Also honored was Van Korell, not pictured, who is responsible for bringing TeamMates Mentoring to McCook. Korell's term has also expired.

TeamMates Mentoring currently has 48 students from middle school through high school, including six seniors. New adult mentors are currently being trained and will be matched with a student when training is complete. There as been a 36 percent improvement in academic performance from the spring semester of 2010 to spring semester 2011 among TeamMates mentees, and there was 21.4 fewer disciplinary referrals during the same time period.
