New medical director for SWNPHD

McCOOK, Nebraska --Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department (SWNPHD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Shiuvuan Jaeger, MD as the new Medical Director and Board Member.

"Dr. Jaeger will be an excellent medical director and board member for the Health Department," states Myra Stoney, Director of SWNPHD. "She will be approving protocols for immunizations, lead screening, and blood pressure measurements in addition to her family practice at Tri Valley Health Systems."

Medical director is a volunteer position for health departments. Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department has been very grateful for the recent volunteer service of Dr. Douglas Nicholson, Imperial. Previous directors include: Dr. Lennie Deaver, Cambridge and Dr. Toby Free, McCook.

Originally from Chappell, Nebraska, Dr. Jaeger received her undergraduate degree from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa in 1994 with majors in biology and bio-chemistry. She graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha in 1998 and completed a three-year family practice residency program in Cheyenne, Wyoming in June, 2001.

Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department serves Chase, Dundy, Frontier, Furnas, Hayes, Hitchcock, Perkins and Red Willow counties.
