Tractors driven by Southwest Nebraska area residents were part of record-breaking antique tractor parade at the Nebraska State Fair Saturday. The parade set a new Guinness World Record with 1,139 antique tractors. The former number was 745 antique tractors in one parade, set in Germany four years ago. Guinness World Records defines a classic tractor as one that's 30 years old and can be driven for two miles. Drivers and tractors came from 31 different states, in classic models made by John Deere, Allis Chalmers, Farmall and Minneapolis-Moline. Some of the antiques from the parade will remain on display at the Nebraska State Fair for the upcoming week. Shown at right is Gene Anderson and Marilyn Anderson, both of McCook, Nebraska, Bob Brown of Trenton, Nebraska and Jerry Stupka, also of Trenton.
