Country Fest at Norris Park

McCook Christian Church invites everyone to Country Fest, May 27 at 10 a.m. in Norris Park.

Country Fest is an old fashioned worship service featuring Brad and Adrienne Randel and their band, followed by a picnic dinner with fried chicken, homemade pies, ice cream and root beer. There will also be a special church service for kids behind the George Norris Home.

One of the special features of Country Fest will be a visit from the famous frontier preacher, Raccoon John Smith. Raccoon was a colorful, powerful preacher who traveled the back roads of Kentucky in the 1800's sharing the good news about Jesus. Raccoon John was deeply involved in the study of God's Word and had a gift for preaching in a down home style that captured people's attention.
