Write an apology

Thursday, April 12, 2012

Dear Editor,

I have been watching and listening to the issue of the county jail.

I am appalled at what I thought were two upstanding people of this community telling people of this county that if we build a bigger jail, the state will pay for it, and putting out misinformation and false statements to the public, and even hiring lawyers to get involved in this issue.

My father always told me that misleading people to believe things that are not true, and will never happen, is a lie and no matter how much sugar you coat it with, it is still a lie, and the integrity of the people involved is lost. Mr. Dueland and Mr. Morris, I am totally disappointed in both of you.

It is time for both of you to go home and sit down and write an apology to the people of this county, and to the commissioners for the way you have conducted yourselves with misinformation (lies) and let the commissioners get on with the job they need to do.

Mr. Morris, I think your money for a lawyer would be better spent on the Fox Theatre, and you wouldn't be in need of begging for so many donations.

Enough said. Thank you for your time, and let's get this jail done. It is the best, and most economical plan they have had and it needs to be done.

Don Neel,

McCook, Nebraska
