Letter to the Editor

A mighty battle

Wednesday, February 29, 2012

Dear Editor,

This is to publicly thank and congratulate our entire Nebraska Congressional Delegation: co-sponsors Congressmen Lee Terry and Adrian Smith, Sens. Ben Nelson and Mike Johanns for co-sponsoring the Respect for Rights of Conscience Act (H.R. 1179 or S. 1467 for Senators), and to urge them to do everything they can do to get this critical legislation passed.

In our current secular world, it appears that we are engaged in a mighty battle between men and women of tender consciences, on one side, and men and women of warped consciences, on the other. We Nebraskans are blessed and fortunate that our elected representatives stand firmly on the side of those with tender consciences and are prepared to fight against this outrageous attack on our First Amendment right. In the words of one of our great naval heroes, "Man the torpedoes; full speed ahead!"

Sincerely Yours,

J.G. McHale,

McCook, Nebraska
