Generous community

Dear Editor,

I want to thank this community for the great support they have given to my Adopt a Chaplain project which sends boxes to our troops in Orgun-E Afghanistan. These were the large flat rate boxes that hold lots of goodies for our troops.

I received many many bags and boxes of items plus generous donations of money that I use for postage and to buy even more items. This year we sent 100 boxes, a new record.

I will be sending Christmas cards and letters soon. Those cards with handwritten notes are a hit with all the soldiers. The most touching cards are ones from children.

I had great help packing the boxes. For some friends it was their third year in helping me and a few new gals joined in on the fun.

I received sooooo much candy this year. Thanks also to the Methodist Church kids, that helped me package it up in snack bags. I sure hope they have a dentist to clean their teeth!

In January I will start again sending 2-3 boxes a week. We will include lots of hand and foot warmers which soldiers, on lonely guard duty, especially need in that cold miserable country.

We are so blessed to live in this great USA. This community is generous beyond belief.

God Bless

Ann Trail

  • May God heap double blessings on your and all those who help you, Ann. I am sure that your box's of goodies will be long remembered, by those your Oasis Boxes bless. Oh, they may not, years from now, remember their Granny-Annie, by name, but for sure, will, their Granny-Annie, by 'Heart,' hers, that helped warm theirs. AMEN

Baruch Atah, Achoth. (Blessed are you, my sister)

    Smile at everyone you see,

To let them wonder who you be.

Jesus came to earth to Bless,

Pay the Price for man-made mess.

So, Merry Christmas, one and all,

Keep listening for his Trumpet Call,

When Jesus comes for His faithful Bride,

Those 'Born Again,' In Him, Certified.

    Like you, Ann.

    AMEN

  • Where can a person drop donations off at and what type of things are you looking for?
