Letter to the Editor

Director grateful

Friday, November 25, 2011

Dear Editor,

Something happened to me today while I was buying supplies for the Humane Society. I was pretty busy, in a hurry as usual, loading the cart, and a very kind lady handed me an extremely kind donation. She just handed me a donation for the shelter, no muss, she didn't even really give me time to say thanks. I don't want to embarrass her but the feeling that inspired was what I wanted to let her know.

This is the time of year that "Thanks" should be in the front of our minds. I want to thank her personally. I want to thank all of the folks that support us, the volunteers, the community, the kind people that donate items, money and just take time to come visit all of our temporarily homeless friends here. That act of kindness had me in such a bubbly mood that I ended up making a few others laugh. It's contagious, that "warm fuzzy bubbly feeling" I was given by that act of kindness.

Lorie L. Prestes,

Shelter Director

McCook Humane Society

McCook, Nebraska
