Purpose is clear

Dear Editor,

Few passersby would have failed to notice the fire truck with extended ladders and the large U.S. flag flapping in the breeze at the corner of West Fifth and B streets last weekend.

The purpose was clear: A visible display of our community's commitment honoring the 3,000 brave innocent civilians who sacrificed their lives on 9/11.

Only morons would say this display was foolish and a complete waste of time and taxpayers' money.
