HASTINGS, Nebraska -- Craig Eugene Francis, 57, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011, at his home in Hastings.
He was born Jan. 12, 1954, in Oberlin, Kansas, the son of Verle and Dolores (Barnes) Francis. Craig grew up and received his education in Norcatur, Norton and Herndon, Kansas, moving to McCook where he graduated from McCook Senior High School in 1972.
He moved to Hastings, where he was custodian at the Haven Nursing Home in Kenesaw, Nebraska, at the time of his death.
Craig was a basketball fan and an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Keith Francis; and one sister, Kathy Francis Taylor.
Craig is survived by two daughters, Shayla Francis of Blanding, Utah, and Arlene Robinson of Tooele, Utah; one granddaughter, Taya Cowdell of Tooele; parents, Verle and Dolores Francis of McCook; one brother, Leland Francis and his wife, Lois of Wilson, Kansas; one sister, Eloise Thornton and husband, Dean of Ingalls, Kansas; and relatives and friends.
Memorial services are Friday, 10:30 a.m., at Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in McCook with Sean Riley, branch president, officiating. Inurnment is in Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook.
Memorials may be given in his name and friends may sign his register at Herrmann Funeral Home in McCook during regular business hours.
