Insulted, belittled
Dear Editor,
Regarding Christensen's "birther bill," I feel insulted and belittled.
I have served my time in the military. My dad served in World War II. My grandfather served in World War I and died from being gassed, and a lot of uncles and cousins served, also.
My grandmother was half Indian (she had more claim to this country than Christensen will ever have), and this birther bill is an insult to many Americans -- white, black, brown, or whatever seems to be offensive to him. I voted FOR him, but will never do so again. From now on I will work against him due to his offering the "birther bill."
Christensen should be ashamed of himself; he brings shame to the rest of the good Nebraska people. When I was a kid, I could visit neighboring towns and heard many languages in use where neighbors visited amongst themselves, all good Nebraska Americans who he now represents, of whom a great many are "relatively new" citizens of America.
I know who he means to attack via this bill. And know this; I would rather have a hard-working, church-going, Mexican/ Latino family living next door to me than a bunch of shameless folks who live off the "government dole." The Mexican/Latino folks I have seen or met in Nebraska are working hard to earn their pay, they go to church and pray to God, (something he might try) and spend their money HERE.
