Tyson Sayer Memorial Buffet set for Tuesday
McCOOK, Nebraska -- Tuesday, Oct. 5, at the McCook Pizza Hut, the McCook Strutters NWTF will host a memorial buffet benefit for Tyson Sayer from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
Everyone who comes to eat the buffet that evening will contribute profits to the memorial scholarship in Tyson's name. Please come out and support this great cause and celebrate the memory of a very special young man. The evening will include a donation basket for those that wish to contribute more to the scholarship, raffle opportunities that will be drawn on Saturday October 9th during the NWTF Annual Banquet, and memory sharing of a life well lived.
One of the raffle items is the NWTF gun of the year valued around $1,000. Only 200 tickets will be sold and half of the ticket revenue will go toward Tyson's scholarship.
Offered only through the NWTF core package, the NWTF Gun of the Year is sure to become a collectible item. Guns are sequentially numbered and exclusive to NWTF. This year's gun is a Remington 1100 G3. Tickets are $20 for a one in two hundred chance at a thousand dollar gun. You DO NOT have to be present to win.
Tyson Sayer believed that each day was one to be treated as if it was your last. Being a two time survivor of cancer Tyson knew all too well what it meant to think today was your last. Due to this he wanted to live everyday knowing he did everything he could and wanted all of those around him to do the same. In honor of the way he lived and the unbelievable events that made him whom he was, local wildlife chapters have come together to make a separate foundation for youth scholarship in Tyson's name.
Tyson was an avid sportsman in many areas including but not limited to hunting, fishing, and bowling. Youth connected to NWTF, Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, Quail Foundation, and bowling leagues will be able to apply for scholarships to assist with mentor hunting, hunting/archery contest supplies, bowling travel expenses, and more depending on the youth's individual needs.
