DANBURY, Nebraska -- Randall August Barber, 57, passed away following a short battle with liver cancer on Saturday (Sept. 25, 2010) at his home in Danbury.

Randy was born June 1, 1953, to parents Joseph Henry and Joyce Elaine (Giinther) Barber in Hays, Kansas. While growing up, he attended school at Republican Valley in Indianola, Nebraska.

On Sept. 27, 1986, Randy married Jerri Kay (Estes) Barber in Indianola. Randy was the father of two sons, August and Josh. He worked for Doak Construction as a welder. His passions were his family, motorcycles and fishing. He was also the founder of the High Plains Drifters Motorcycle Club. The club was founded in 1984.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Joyce; and his sister, Nancy Barber.

Randy is survived by his loving wife, Jerri; two sons, August Barber of Lynchburg, Virginia, and Josh and wife, Kiana Barber and their three children Lania, Nautia and Maelyn of Fort Collins, Colorado; two brothers, Bob Barber of Spencer, Iowa, and John and wife, Misti Barber of Dana, Indiana; and three sisters, Judy and husband, Gene Boucher of McCook, Bonnie Woofter of McCook, and Mary and husband, Steve Goltl of Ft. Worth, Texas.

The family will hold a memorial service in honor of Randy on Saturday, 3 p.m., at the Indianola Community Center.
