Three bachelors

Calen Weidner has lived in southern Hitchcock County all of his 16 years and has seen plenty of wildlife, but Wednesday was the first time he ever spotted -- and photographed -- any elk. Neither had his dad, Russ, and probably most other Southwest Nebraska residents. "It was just three bachelors out for a walk," Russ said.
