Nursing Home Week

Monday, May 10, 2010

Dear Community Members,

In observance of National Nursing Home Week, May 9 to May 15, Hillcrest Nursing Home is celebrating with a series of week-long events designed to strengthen the bonds and contacts among our residents, youth, volunteers, community members, families and staff. The theme of this week at Hillcrest is "Enriching Every Day."

Some of the week's special events include Musical Entertainment by Joyce Torchis, sponsored by Merry Makers followed by our Annual Family and Staff barbecue on Monday evening. Other special events planned throughout the week are a Nebraska Humanities Council presentation by Vickie Troxel Harris on an interview with Mickey Stubblefield, former McCook Cats baseball player on Wednesday afternoon at 2;30 p.m.

An Ice Cream Social, staff and resident basketball game and even a pig calling contest and kiss the pig contest will round off the week.

More importantly, it is an opportunity for our residents and staff to have their moment in the sun as they share their skills and talents this week. Stop in and join us as we celebrate this national event. You will truly see the devotion our residents and staff have for each other and for our community. You will find us "Up on the Hill" at West Seventh and D streets.

Sincerely,

Peggy A Rogers

Administrator
