Dear Editor,

I am not sure whether I attended the TEA party rally Monday to become politically active or just to see what kinds of people have become involved.

I observed and talked to most of the people there trying to find the KKK members, the far-right-wing kooks that might think of blowing things up and those who are just idiots looking for a platform. It was no surprise to me that I found none of the above.

What I did find were ordinary, hardworking Americans who have paid their own way trying to put together a future for their children and grandchildren.

The concerns that I heard and saw voiced were as follows:

l. The bankrupting of America and its citizens

2. The blatant trashing of the Constitution by our current administration.

3 People questioning the motives of "Career Politicians."

4. People who could not understand how a Congress could vote in a health care package that over 70 percent of Americans were against.

5. People that feel that McCook's native son Ben Nelson betrayed his constituents.

6. And most of all, people who are willing to put in their time and dig in their wallets to try and correct the course of this nation by getting the vote for competent, honest business oriented candidates for the primary and general elections.

To put government spending into perspective log on to Fox News.com and click on "it's your money." They have a calculator that will compute your share of two Senators' earmarks of 890 million. I punched in an income of $75,000 (the amount our government thinks is an average middle income in America) using these figures my share is $391.00 or $439.33 for every billion dollars they spend.
