Medication mistake

Monday, April 5, 2010

Dear Editor,

I have been reading and hearing many comments on the Hillcrest nursing home pharmacy issue and also people calling in on the Open Line radio program. I must say I agree 100 percent that this a big mistake, for the fact we are always told to keep our spending dollar in the town we live in.

There would not only be a loss in revenue for the pharmacy, but also cutbacks such as people losing jobs, and the amount of hours. There must be some way we can pull together and have a petition to give them to show them how many people are concerned.

But at the same time, I just wonder how the Hillcrest board of directors would feel if all of the residents moved out to another nursing home.

There would be a empty nursing home and no money coming in and employees without jobs.

I do realize that it would not be easy for every one to relocate their loved ones to another nursing home, but at the same time, Hillcrest would feel a financial pinch like the pharmacy would.

Something needs to be done, before anything takes place. Thank you,

Kevin Dunn
