Census is vital

If you haven't been contacted already about the census, you soon will be.

It is extremely important that you complete the census form and return it in a timely manner. Make sure you include ALL members of your family/friends who primarily reside in your household.

The census is the basis of congressional redistricting for the U.S. Congress. It also can be used in our state to redistrict our state senator representation.

Additionally, it is used to make decisions on distribution of state and federal funds for government programs such as Medicaid, funding for schools, roads, cities, towns and counties. Generally speaking, the larger the population, the greater the funding. If you have not been contacted by the Census Bureau, call the toll-free number, (800) 923-8282. Each person counts.

To help our communities receive our fair share of funding and representation, it is vital that every person is included.
