Letter to the Editor

They told us so

Tuesday, January 5, 2010

Dear Editor,

We were warned about the same sex marriage law in Iowa, and how it would affect the sanctity of marriage. And now, Carl Rove gets his second divorce. What other explanation could there be?

Bruce Hoffman,

McCook

  • Bruce,

Same sex marriages are still unsanctioned in the vast majority of states.

The majority of all births today involve unwed mothers.

The majority of all heterosexual marriages end in divorce.

Recent research indicates 75% of all married men engage in extramarital sex.

That same research indicates 60% of all married women engage in extramarital sex.

Remove the extramarital same sex encounters, and the majority relativity remains.

Homosexuals do not cause heterosexual divorce -- Those "straight" folks are responsible.

How about a constitutional amendment requiring:

"ALL HETEROSEXUAL PERSONS involved in divorce are required to function as homosexuals with at least one homosexual encounter monthly for ten years."

I bet that would cut down on the divorce rate.

I'd suggest that neither homosexuality nor the bonding of two persons in a committed relationship regardless of sexual orientation causes any of those statistics you've so thoughtfully provided.

Perhaps we ought to outlaw divorce.
