Enough double talk
Dear Editor,
I want to disagree with Mr. Fagin's opinion of what Dick Trail wrote in his column. There are more voters who agree with Dick Trail than with Mr. Fagin or Ben Nelson. I am just one of the many hard-working tax payers who are getting sick and tired of politicians not listening to the people who pay their salary.
We did not want Ben Nelson to vote for the bill to get it to the floor because the next vote for passage will only take 51 votes, not 60. Conveniently, the four people who voted to make 60 won't have to vote next time, so they think they will be forgiven for this vote.
We have all had enough of the double talk. We are not accusing Ben of selling his vote exactly, because he is a man of integrity, but a chairmanship or something else may be nice.
Health care costs are going up no matter what, and we sure don't want health care like Canada or England.
I don't think this letter will likely see any ink in the paper, but I care dearly what is going to happen to my children and grandchildren and this dear and precious country.
A concerned taxpayer,
W.O. Wagner,
McCook
