Massive Christmas display opens Friday
CULBERTSON -- "Corey's Christmas Corner" officially opens the Christmas season in the Culbertson area Friday evening at 6:30 p.m., when Gerald and Rosemary Corey flip the switches on 52,000 computer-programmed Christmas-carol-synchronized colored lights and decorations.
The Coreys have increased their light-bulb count from 40,000 last year, and invite everyone to drive by and tune their radios to 88.1 FM to listen to Rosemary's narration and selected Christmas songs and watch the leaping lights and dancing decorations.
The first show starts each evening through the end of the year at 6:30 p.m.; the last one at 9:45 p.m.
"Park at the edge of the road to allow for traffic flow and put your car lights on park or off and get ready for an enjoyable experience," the Coreys' radio program begins. It concludes, "Drive safely and have a merry and blessed Christmas and a happy New Year."
The Corey farm is located two miles east of Culbertson on U.S. Highway 6-34 and one-quarter mile north on County Road 376.
