Come to the Hitchcock County Fair

Dear Editor,

I want to let everyone know about the upcoming fair. We have added some new categories in the Open Class Department 1. Candies (6 pieces on a plate) any kind that is homemade. 2. Dehydrated foods (1 cup in sealed bag) 3. Machine-made bread (1 loaf) 4. Eggs (6 in carton, same kind) any variety. The photography theme is Playtime.

So if you have knitted it, crocheted it, quilted it, sewed it, photographed it, painted it, wood worked it, canned it or are growing it -- veggies or flowers or grains -- since the 2008 fair, we are looking forward to seeing it at the Hitchcock County Fair. Entry times are Wednesday, Aug. 5, from 6 to 9 p.m. or Thursday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
