Nursing home week

Monday, May 11, 2009

Dear Editor,

In observance of National Nursing Home Week, May 10 to May 16, Hillcrest Nursing Home is celebrating with a series of week long events designed to enrich the relationships and contacts between our residents, youth, volunteers, community members, families, and staff. The theme of this week at Hillcrest is "Making a Difference in the Lives of Others."

Some of the week's special events include our annual Family and Staff Barbeque on Monday evening with the Driftwood Feeders 4-H club providing a Dog Agility program for our enjoyment. Other days include circus performers, a pie throwing fundraiser, an appearance by Mrs. Southwest Nebraska, an Israel trip presentation and a travel photo and souvenir display, a pep rally with the MHS cheerleaders and pep band, and a salute for "Armed Forces Day".

More importantly, it is an opportunity for our residents and staff to showcase their talents and skills by giving them a chance to shine. Come and be a part of this remarkable event and see for yourself the inspiration and commitment that happens every day here at Hillcrest, We are "up on the hill" at West Seventh and D Streets.

Sincerely,

Peggy Rogers,

Administrator
