Flood memories

Dear Editor,

This article by (Walt) Sehnert brought back a lot of memories for me [The Rapid City Flood, 1972" (http:// www.mcookgazette.com/story/1528158.html)]. I lived in McCook at the time, and was in high school. That summer I had volunteered with a Salvation Army group.

We spent some time in Rapid City after the flood, helping with relief work and clean-up.

My parents, Chester and Norine Stewart, also went to Rapid City to aid in the efforts of the Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army officer assigned to Rapid City was killed in that flood as he was trying to evacuate people.
