How do you like those new fountains?

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

Four lighted fountains have been installed at the ponds in Barnett Park. We asked park visitors what they thought of them and this is what they said:

Gary Premer

"They're great. I come down here a lot and (the city) has done a great job keeping the park cleaned up."

Gary Premer, McCook.

Holly, Robin Grigg

"They're cool and pretty."

"I think they're cool and the ducks like them."

Holly Grigg, 9, McCook

Krayton, Courtney Williams

"I like them After dark, they're beautiful."

Krayton Williams, 4, Courtney Williams, McCook

Breanna Rath

"They're sparkly."

Breanna Rath, 3, McCook

Grace Infante

"I was shocked when I saw them. I thought, when did they do that?"

Grace Infante, second from left, McCook

  • What's the point? All you did is wasted tax payers money!!!!

  • Some people can never be satisfied, can they? I believe the fountains serve the purpose of aeriating the ponds and keeping the water clean enough for fish to survive - they are also very pretty! I think it is wonderful that the city is able to invest in things that can make us proud of our little town. Keep up the good work!

  • I agree, wasted tax payers money! Could have been put to better use making the town safer for the residents rather than the ponds safe for the fish. Not everything you see is going to be "pretty" and this town has a serious issue with that!
