ARAPAHOE -- B. June Roepke, 87, died Sunday (Nov. 30, 2008) at Mount Carmel Nursing Home in Kearney.

She was born June 12, 1921, on the family farm south of Arapahoe to William H. and Hazel (Elston) McCoy. She attended Arapahoe High School and graduated in 1938.

She married Lyle O. Roepke on Aug. 5, 1941, in Detroit, Mich. While her husband served in the military, she worked various manufacturing jobs.

After Lyle's military service, they moved to Holbrook in 1948 and owned and managed a restaurant. They then moved to Mesa, Ariz. While her husband worked as a fireman, she worked for Bermilla's Dress shop and Burrow's Insurance.

In June of 1983, they moved to Arapahoe and operated the Arapahoe Motel, before retiring in 1987, and moving to Johnson Lake. In 1992, they moved to Kearney. Her husband died April 7, 2006. In 2007, because of health reasons she moved in with her daughter. In November of 2008 she moved to Mount Carmel Home.

She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church of Kearney and the Mesa, Ariz., Fireman's Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lyle; brother H. Wayne McCoy; sister, Arva Holloway; brother-in-law, Kenneth Holloway; and sister-in-law, Fritz McCoy.

Survivors include her son, Todd Roepke of Kearney; daughter, Tami Sculley of Kearney; brothers, Victor and wife, Maxine McCoy of Kearney and Neal McCoy of Arapahoe; sister, Mona and husband, Dan Mousel of Edison; sister-in-law, Charlavee McCoy of Arapahoe; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m., at First United Methodist Church in Arapahoe with the Rev. Michael Flury officiating. Internment will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery.

Viewing and visitation will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe and prior to the services at the church on Thursday.
