Letter to the Editor

Think about it

Friday, November 7, 2008

Dear Editor,

Election Day has passed on. Did you vote? If not, why not?

If you did not vote, something bad will happen to the economy.

The economy will get worser because you did vote, or the economy will be even more worser and as worst as it can get because you voted.

Think about it!

Steve Stramel,

McCook

  • How can we even take this opinion seriously, "worser" is not a word, the proper english for the above opinion, should be as follows:

" The economy will get worse because you did not vote, or the economy will be even more worse, and as worse as it can get because you voted."

I wish people would be more intelligent when they write in.

  • BKE504, These words are for you:

A base/root word, utilizing any proper prefix, or suffix, which does not detract from the base/root meaning, but facilitates expansion of the meaning, or focuses the contextual intent, generates an acceptable word, even though not found in the limited space of the Dictionary.

An example, from my Tome, Random House Unabridged Dictionary: worse, worsen, worser(??), worst.

Did anyone notice the word: 'worser?' The suffix 'er' only changes the degree to be worse then the worse being compared to. Try 'transworser,' and see if your dictionary has that word, even though it is absolutely correct, used in the proper context of 'worser than the worse, presently being experienced, throughout, or completely.'

Steve, these words are for you: Well said.

To both, and all, Shalom in the Love of Messiah.

  • It would seem it didn't take much intelligence, for you BKE, to be so ignorant, or is it arrogant? to correct Mr.Shammel.. Shame on you!! His point was well said, regardless of his grammer.. And neither he, nor anyone else, should be afraid to voice an opinion based on proper grammer, or spelling..
