Amusing law
Dear Editor,
I find the safe haven law amusing. For years, HHS and other state entities have been telling people how to raise children. Certainly, there are resources for people with problem kids, but it has been my understanding that unless you meet specific income and resource guidelines, you are out of luck, even if you exceed the guideline by a single dollar.
Why wouldn't people at their wit's end choose to drop off the kids that the state won't let them discipline? Heck, my stray cats behave better than a lot of the brats I see in the stores.
I would also like to address the issue of the Dems turning America into a Communist State. Look around you and you will see that it already is on that road. If you don't pay taxes, the IRS or the state can take your home, and so can the county you live in.
You can't do anything to improve your home without getting approval from a zoning board or the building inspector.
Beginning in June of next year, if you own a bar or cafe, you have to be "smoke free" due to a state law. It seems not to matter that the majority of your customers are smokers or in the company of smokers when they come in.
Seems pretty communist to me.
Wake up people, the federal, state, county and city governments already control almost every aspect our lives.
