Verne A. Pretzer

DILLER -- Verne A. Pretzer, 91, died Thursday (Oct. 9, 2008), at Heritage Care Center in Fairbury.

He was born Sept. 28, 1917, at Beatrice, to Albert and Bertha (Moschell) Pretzer.

He was a World War II veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Irene of Diller; a son, Dean and wife, Jane Pretzer of Diller; daughters, Ruth and husband Stephen Gasper of Fairbury and Marilyn and husband, Jim Gaster of Indianola; a brother, Lloyd and wife, Delores Pretzer of Beatrice; a sister, Helen and husband, Verne Dvorak of Lincoln; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Diller with the Rev. Mark Liscom officiating. Burial will be at the Prairie Home Cemetery at Diller.

Memorials are being accepted.
