Lets talk illegal immigrants. First of all who was here before Columbus arrived? How where those people treated by all of the illegal immigrants that came to this new world. You talk about attrition! It was to the extreme. Now Americans are wanting to do the very same thing to another people who only want what your fore fathers wanted and got by the way The American Dream. These people do jobs no American would dream of doing. Americans are to good for these types of jobs even if Americans needed a job Americans wouldnt even consider working them. So before throwing them out consider this who will work the packing plants,clean your pools,mow your grass,wash your dishes,pichup your trash,all of the nasty jobs Americans wont do?

G-Man, let me get this straight. From reading the article, there was activity at a house on Road 714, and these illegal immigrants were caught with drugs. What if those eight individuals had sold drugs to your child earlier in the day, or in days prior, would you still feel the same about these illegal immigrants?? Would you feel the same about these illegal immigrants if they had abducted you, took all your money, and stole your identity so that there 7th cousin could come live in America?? Would you feel the same about these illegal immigrants if you had a loved one working on border patrol on the America/Mexico Border who was getting shot at on a daily basis because they were trying to stop these filthy individuals from smuggling massive amounts of drugs into OUR COUNTRY and distribute them to people we love, as well as shooting at the people who are there to protect this country from them??

And last but not least, they work at packing plants, because they want to come to our country, but they don't want to learn our language, there for it would be pretty difficult for them to work in any retail location when they can't communicate with the customers. We are just expected to bow down and teach their language, and the perfect example of this, is Lexington NE.

Your dirty jobs that you listed, I have the following to say about them:

**Packing Plants: Read Above

**Clean Swimming Pools: If I had one I would clean it myself.

**Mowing the lawn: This is done once a week if not more.

**Dishes: These are done daily.

** Picking up trash: I pick up after myself and the people that live with me, as well as picking up trash along our country road. As for the rest, most of the people I see picking up trash are volunteers from different organizations around the community or the work ethic camp.

These really aren't nasty jobs, they are jobs that EVERYONE has to do, so I don't know how any of the JOBS you listed, except for ONE of them (packing plants), really only applies to the Hispanic population, and I know white individuals that work at these packing plants as well.

I use to live next door to a very nice hispanic family, but the law is the law, and it is about time that we start enforcing it.

I suppose you are an individual who would like us tax payers who are LEGAL in this country, to pay for all of their health care as well. Would that be a fair statement??

mr.bke504 Eveidently you havent been outside your little shell of where you live ever been to L.A. or other big cities where most menial tasks are done by illegals because most Americans wont do them. As far as the drugs goes i under stood the article was about immigration more so than the drugs any way the response was. I wonder? if someone where to look into who was behind the illegals making the drugs who would you find? Possible legal Americans? Illegals are not the only ones who make and distribute drugs in America what about all the legal Americans who do this sort of crime? are they above the law because their AMERICANS? If you go to MEXICO do you speak Spanish?

No, it definitely does not mean that Americans are above the drug laws, anyone manufacturing, transporting, or using should be punished. It is just too bad that it costs more for a DUI or MIP, then anyone caught with drugs. My main point to you was not about the drugs, although after going back and reading my response I can see where you got that, or at least that was the only point in which I made that you had any comeback, you didn't care to to make any comments about the healthcare for these people, in which I would still like to know what you propose we do with that. My main point is that they are "ILLEGAL!!!" I understand that people in different states are pampered, but we are in the Midwest and very few have the priviledge nor want to spend the money on a MAID, most of us are just honest hard working individuals.

to whom ever maybe you should get some facts straight first we pay more in health care for the legals in america than for all illegals in this country.illegals pay for all their expenses in cash! duh if they went to social services for free help they would be found out that in fact they are illegal. now to me it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out illegals do not get free services for fear of deportation. duh secondly you too are here illegally as this country did not belong to you or your fore fathers which i noticed you did not respond to either. as history has showed us foreigners if memory serves me right the american indian was indeed the rightful legal resident of this country not the white anglosaxon protestants that came from europe. thrid spain was also here before columbus even dreamed about finding a new route to the indies so there ya go

Let's give away everything to everybody who wants it for free. ILLEGAL means ILLEGAL. These illegal immigrants, the vast majority being from Mexico and Central America, obtain forged documents. That is one way they obtain benefits from the Federal Government. Obviously, keeping your head buried in the sand and occassionally raising it to show that we are all illegal immigrants is a wonderful display of ignorance. The history of which you speak occurred over one hundred years ago. If this is the way you think then I am entitled to benefits from the United Kingdom, because they oppressed my Irish ancestors. As for jobs that U.S. citizen will not do, that is because the employers have lowered wages and benefits for these jobs to such a level that a hard working citizen cannot afford to have such a job. There are 35 million illegal aliens in the U.S. There are 26 million unemployed U.S. citizens. Boot the illegals, raise the wages and make a big dent in the unemployment rate. You can argue all you want, but the past is the past and illegal means illegal. It is people like you who will bring this nation down. You have already lowered our standards enough. Please stop now.

i think that we are missing the big picture. not all illegals are bad. in fact the majority in this area are great! they are no different than you and i, except that they weren't blessed to be born free in this wonderful country. also, do you know how costly and difficult it is to become an american citizen? its not as easy as filing for any kind of government aide (and those of us who have done that know what a crappy process that is!).

i wanna give props to those illegals who are here contributing to our community! they shop at schmick's, wal-mart, and various service stations around. they eat at our restaurants and buy vehicles at our dealerships. by doing this are we not getting some tax monies back from them for our community?

there are many issues within this one major issue, and we have to look at the whole picture. it is my belief that if becoming a citizen were eaiser and cheaper more would do it in a heartbeat. then let those who still refuse to take that step be deported. EVERYONE deserves a piece of this american pie (no pun intended) not just the "gringos"

How about they quit taking the easy way across and try to change their country to what they want it to be? The big picture is they are ILLEGAL immigrants. They spend so much money in our community. In fact, I enjoyed watching them spend their WIC money in Walmart the other day. And the skill they showed by doing that and not speaking English was amazing. Another example? The 150 Cubans they are bring into the meat processing plant in Grand Island. The school system has already been told to expect a large influx of students who dont' speak English. And they are being brought in from Miami. You would think if they loved this country so much, they would at least learn the language. I know I tried to learn as much of the language of the countries I served in. It is only respectful. Oh, and I didn't qualify for any of their government aid.

besides being a mind reader what else are you? how did you know that family spending the wic check were illegal? and if you would want a private conversation and know a second language wouldnt you use it? besides whats the problem with that family or any family wanting to maintain the language of their birth, heritage,nationality,and so on wheres does it say when you come to america speak english they dont have to thats the whole point of this country be your self if you dont like it leave! afraid they are talking about you? if you havent heard english is the first taught language in most all countries in the world. duh most of you forget what this country is all about illegal or not all are suppose to be welcome except by those who are?

David Mac, I completly agree with your opinion on this "ILLEGAL" issue. I have come to the conclusion that it is pointless to argue with g-man, as the word "duh" is a complete turn off to me, when trying to carry on an intelligent debate.

Amazing. You want to be an American, but you want to keep your language, customs, etc, etc, etc from the country you came from. That is one good way to assimilate into being an American. And the idea of being different doesn't work with me. The American society is be different as long as you are like everyone else. And I have to agree. Speak English or leave. As for being afraid they were speaking about me, I wasn't afraid. I was just curious if there were talking about how my tax money was paying for their food. But that doesn't change a thing. ILLEGAL means ILLEGAL. Tired of my taxes being used in this manner. How about we fix our own county's problems before we give out gift baskets to the illegal immigrants? Duh.
