Letter to the Editor

Send money

Monday, June 23, 2008

Dear Editor,

As the cost of gasoline skyrockets, so does the price of fireworks. We Americans should be thankful we can afford the finest, even though they are often made in Japan.

Yet there are many little Iraqi children who will not be able to celebrate their democratization by setting off little bombs. Why? Because their family cannot afford it. Please send any money you have left from your economic stimulus check to the new democratic government of the recently bombed Red, White and Blue Zone of Baghdad.

Also send books and pornographic magazines.

Sincerely yours,

Steve Stramel,

McCook

  • I am generally entertained by your rambling - but the last sentence crosses the line from fun to absurd - clean it up!!

  • Steve, I offer MEGA-DITTO to commonsense2. You have the 'right' to speak your mind in this Great country, but 'right,' is followed closely by 'responsibility' of reasonable utterance.

  • Laughed out loud! I have a collection of Steve's satirical editorials that I share with my friends who also "get" his humorous and sometimes biting commentary. Keep it up, Steve!
