Signs vandalized

Dear Editor,

Recently someone vandalized the new signs at the park. This is a very rude and disrespectful act on the responsible party's behalf. The Palisade Park Board works very hard to continually make our park a nice place for the community. As a park board we raise our own funds to do this, we do not ask for donations, and we have not received a grant for a long time. We work hard to raise the money that is put into the park, not to mention that we work continually putting in physical hours as well.

The signs that were vandalized were very expensive and bought with the money that was raised by the members. It is very hard to believe that there is such a lack of respect going on in our community that children, or adults, or whomever is responsible would purposely ruin things down at the park that are put there for them. Where has the Park Board gone wrong in trying to make this a beautiful park for all to enjoy?

Where are the parents, and citizens who care about our town, park and the future of Palisade? When does it stop, when we have a trashed park that parents do not want their kids to play in? Or when things down town start to get vandalized as well, what is next?

We have too much invested in making this community and park a nice place. Let's work together to take care of it!
