Deal or No Deal?

Dear Editor,

 We certainly agree with the two individuals who expressed their opinions in Friday's April 4 Gazette concerning the animal abuse of the cattle near Indianola.

We were appalled when we learned about this horrible situation. The magnitude of this is unexcusable to say the least.

It saddens us and many other individuals we have visited with. The consensus is that this is as bad as it gets and definitely this individual should have been prosecuted to the fullest extent, but was not!

We pay our elected officials to do the right thing in situations such as this, and yet they chose to make a deal with the abuser. Absurd! This is not about deals, it is about justice.

The cost of prosecution is no excuse. This so-called rancher was full of excuses too, and sure knew how to talk his way to freedom.

To dismiss this lightly tells one that there is no authority set forth by our elected officials.
