Thelma M. Albrecht died Thursday (April 3, 2008) at Community Hospital in McCook at the age of 96.

She was born Sept. 12, 1911, in Frontier County, the daughter of the late Timothy and Edna (Wilson) Dewane. In 1918, the family moved to McCook, where they owned and operated the McCook Grocery store. She received her education in McCook.

On Feb. 10, 1932, Thelma married Alfred Leroy Albrecht in McCook. They spent their married life farming southwest of McCook, moving to McCook in 1958, and retired in 1969.

She was a charter member of the Beream Fundamental Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred on May 1, 1987; her parents; one brother, Timothy Dewane Jr.; sisters, Dorothy Propp, Ruth Groves and Edith Alexander; and one great-grandson, D'Angelo Richey.

Thelma is survived by one daughter, Janet Larsen of McCook; three grandchildren, Kathryn Kay Larsen, Donna May Richey and husband, Thomas and Cheryl Adams; great-grandchildren, Justin Ingraham, Sean Brittenham, T.J. Richey, Nicholas Richey, Matthew Richey, Lucas Adams, Amanda Adams and Jordan Adams; great-great-grandchildren, Sierra Richey, Drew Richey, Max Smith, Jeweliana Richey, Christian Johnson, Elijah Johnson, Noah Johnson, Halle Johnson, Brooke Adams, Thor Ingraham, Taylor Brittenham, Tanner Brittenham and Jailyn Richey; sister, Madeline Groves of McCook; and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook with Pastor Jon Albrecht officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in her name and friends may call today at Herrmann Funeral Home in McCook until 9 p.m.
