Safe teen drivers

Thursday, February 28, 2008

Dear Editor,

We say we need to keep parents aware of the dangers teenage drivers can face or cause ["Parents must do all they can to keep teen drivers safe" (http://www.mccookgazette.com/story/1313884.html)].

Well that is always true but for everyone not just teenagers. We have young adults still acting very irresponsible, and getting behind the wheel of a car intoxicated.

We lost a wonderful person from out local community a few months back, walking along the side of a road with her child and stuck by a drunk driver. Well, (recently) a drunk student of MCC hit a parked car at 2 a.m. Yet this student continues like nothing happen. MCC College has been told about this situation. I'm tired of the mockery that people make of another human being's life. MCC College lost one of their very own, and we would assume that they would take this very seriously, and yet to set example by enforcing the rules of conduct that as a student of MCC College should follow, right? We need to put a stop to the reckless behavior of others before we lose another precious life. I support our local College but feel they need to support the community back by enforcing of the rules and regulations that should be followed by students. Local, and state laws shall be obeyed by all including MCC College students.
